Should You Play IdleOn: The Idle MMO?

GAME SCORE: 9/10

IdleOn, or Legends of IdleOn (we're not really sure), is a fantastic new mobile and steam game that reminds us here at Video Game Fans of games likes FTL and Terraria. Although you can't build cities or whole towns like you might be able to in Minecraft or Terraria, IdleOn includes the awesome pixel-style graphics of Indie games we have come to know and love. Not only that, but it was created by a solo dev named LavaFlame2. Check out his youtube channel here. Alternatively, scroll down to the bottom to see the official IdleOn gameplay video!

IdleOn has multiple classes, play-styles, repeatable bosses and so many mechanics to choose from such as skilling (fishing and mining are my favorite) and so much more!

For gamers not familiar with the genre, idle games allow you to pretty much "set it and forget it" style play. Someone much smarter than myself and "totally not" a robot says:

Idle games, also known as incremental games, are a subgenre of games that focus on minimal player input and often involve the accumulation of resources or progression over time. These games are designed to be played in a passive or semi-active manner, allowing players to make progress even when they're not actively interacting with the game.

The appeal of idle games lies in their simplicity and the sense of gradual progression. They often feature a loop of acquiring resources, upgrading or unlocking new features, and then using those resources to further optimize your progress. This cycle can be addictive and satisfying as you watch your numbers grow and see your in-game efficiency improve.

Idle games typically have a relaxed and casual gameplay experience, making them suitable for players who enjoy a more laid-back style of gaming. They can be great for players who want to have a game running in the background while they focus on other tasks or activities.

The quality and enjoyment of an idle game can vary significantly based on factors such as the design, balancing, and content depth. Some idle games offer a wide range of upgrades, prestige systems, and unlockable features, providing long-term goals and keeping players engaged for extended periods. Others may have limited content and depth, resulting in shorter playtimes.

If "IDLE:On" is a well-designed and engaging idle game for PC, you can expect it to offer a visually appealing interface, a variety of resources or currencies to manage, upgrades or unlockable features to enhance progress, and possibly additional gameplay elements like quests or achievements. The pacing and balance of the game should be designed in a way that provides a sense of progression and accomplishment.

So why play IdleOn? The best part about IdleOn is it has the playstyle of games you know and love but the ability to set up your characters and forget them for any length of time. The longer you wait, the more exp you'll get and the faster you progress. We highly suggest though to, even if you are a free to play player, the auto-loot purchase from the store. Support the game as it is just one dev (still can't believe just one dev made this game), with a couple bucks and you'll be flying through the stages. Not to mention it is an MMO!

The best part is, like Terraria, this game gets CONTINUAL updates. So, as you play through the game and (if up to the challenge), eventually beat it, new worlds are always on the horizon. Think of these worlds as new levels with dozens of hours of content.

So should you play this game? Heck yeah! It may be the best game you've ever played and with the right conditions, could be an endless romp as the Worlds never stop releasing.
